GNDU inked MoU with CENTRE OF SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENT TO BUILT HABITAT OF HUMAN SETTLEMENTS

Amritsar, December 10, 2020: The Centre for Sustainable Habitat, GNDU (CSH) signed a MoU with Centre of Science and Environment, New Delhi (CSE) to share knowledge, and conduct need based collaborative research and capacity building to address various issues and challenges occurring in the built environment of cities and villages.

Prof.Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S.S. Behl, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr.K. S. Kahlon, Registrar, Dr.Ashwani Luthra, Coordinator, CSH, Prof.Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Director Industry Linkage, Mr. Rajneesh Sareen, Programme Director, and Ms. Mitashi Singh, Programme Officer from Sustainable Habitat Programme, CSE, New Delhi were present on this occasion.

Based on mutual need, both Institutions shall explore ways of collaborating joint research, workshops, seminars, conferences, and training programmes in the field of sustainable and liveable habitat in line with the identified six research tracks of CSH. The CSE will act as the knowledge partner of CSH to help mainstream sustainability concerns in the built environment to attain sustainable development goals. CSE shall also provide advisory to CSH in greening opportunities for the GNDU campus. State-of-the-art research labs will be established in the University to carry on the inter-disciplinary research work. CSE will extend internship/training opportunities to the on campus students of the University.

Prof.Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude to CSE for extending the opportunity to join hands in the research efforts on different aspects of built habitat in the cities and villages of India in general and Punjab in particular. He expressed faith and belief that the MoU will benefit in the faculty, researchers and the students of the University by bringing new knowledge, technology and opportunities in sustainability concerns
